Reasons Why Your Feed Was Not Added

There could be a few reasons why your feed is not excepted by our system:

Reason #1: Your XML feed is not properly formatted or set up correctly.

To confirm the feed is correct click your link and make sure it loads live data on a webpage.

Example:
https://www.espn.com/espn/rss/news

If you click on the link and it loads as a text file per the example below then the feed is not properly set up to work with our system and will be rejected.

If you are the owner of the blog you want to add and are getting a text file when you visit your RSS link, you will need to fix this on your end before adding the feed.

Reason #2: Your XML feed is properly formatted but the article URLs in the RSS feed do not have Open Graph metadata on the pages.

What is Open Graph? Open Graph is a technology first introduced by Facebook in 2010 that allows integration between Facebook and its user data and a website. By integrating Open Graph meta tags into your page’s content, you can identify which elements of your page you want to show when someone share’s your page.

Why do we use Open Graph? Since we are creating social posts we use the open graph data to construct the posts in our app (image, title, link) as well as use it to publish the post as an article format to the various social networks.

If you are the owner of the blog you want to add make sure your articles and pages have Open Graph implemented before adding the feed.

Open Graph Meta Data Example: (You can confirm this by viewing the page source of an article in your feed.)
